The study method provides several powerful ways of studying language, especially vocabulary.  It can be used to learn terminology associated with any subject or pick up foreign vocabulary.  One user who was studying Spanish said,

Words like, "play" in English and "tocar" in Spanish have multiple meanings.  Is the translation of "play" tocar?  You don't "play" a door.
